Work involves riding a two wheeler several miles from the village to the city and there are several times when one has to work nights. Enroute to the workplace it is not uncommon to find stretches of the road which are ill lit and even has dark spots. Negotiating one’s way through them can be at once tricky and is also fraught with a certain amount of risk. Which is why there is a need to exercise caution. This is not any different from what many riders all around the world have to go through on almost a daily basis. In countries (read #Europe) where #Cycling is a big hobby & daily activity of choice these risks are perhaps even more. Over the last few years several innovators have come up with lighting options specifically meant for enhancing safety standards. One of the more comprehensive ones among these are products from the people at See.Sense. The #Ace is their latest offering.
As the makers explain, the Ace is the result of pathbreaking research & development that has been an ongoing affair for over five years now. Which is why they term the Ace as a 4th generation lighting product that is a vast improvement on the daytime lights which the See.Sense guys created in 2013. In that sense the Ace is probably the most evolved product that #SeeSense has come up with. Yes they make use of LED technology but in a way that produces far higher lumen output (upto 125 lumens) than the usual LED lights that are out there. Not unlike car lights, these are clearly visible from as far as a mile even. Plus these lights make visibility (on the roads) way better even for the riders. There is of course the whole artificial intelligence thing that the Ace has. This allows the #LED lights to intuitively increase/decrease the output depending on the time of day it is.
So the Ace with it’s smart lighting can be as effective in making your presence felt in daytime as much as during the nights. The Ace is equipped with powerful onboard #Sensors that help it learn a rider’s preferences as well as understand the conditions in which the daily commuting happens. What is most pleasing about the See.Sense Ace is the attention to finer details. Like the Ace can tell when you are not riding and automatically goes into standby mode after a few minutes of staying idle. Use the customised App along with the Ace and you can program it to send you alerts (about battery levels) The See.Sense Ace is an all season option that does not get affected come rain, snow or anything else. Another feature that makes great practical sense is the Ace can be mounted pretty much anywhere, on the bike and even on the rider. From the handlebar to the seatpost and your backpack to even the jersey pocket the Ace fits right in. Anywhere and everywhere.
Talking of technology the makers at See.Sense have incorporated what they term as #ANT+ technology into the light. What this does is to help pair the Ace with all Garmin GPS devices almost seamlessly. The Ace can be setup so that it turns on along with your existing #Garmin and works alongside it. Charging the Ace is as hassle free as can be for this thing can charge off just about any device. Any #USB source be it a computer, laptop, powerbank or even smartphone charger will suffice. Once fully charged (in about two hours) the Ace can easily last for the next 10 hours or so before needing to be plugged in.
Before concluding one must mention that the See.Sense Ace is priced at slightly less than thirty bucks. That is next to nothing considering that it keeps you safe and sound on the road. Recommended.
